What these documents are

A Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance is issued by the county's Product Control Section to a manufacturer, for one series in the configurations and sizes it was tested at. It carries a number, an approval date and an expiration date, and it is the document the building department reads when an impact window or door is permitted in the High Velocity Hurricane Zone.

A Florida Product Approval — an FL number — is the statewide equivalent, issued under the Florida Building Code and tied to the edition of the code it was evaluated against. The state's listing says whether a given number was also evaluated for the High Velocity Hurricane Zone. In Miami-Dade the NOA is the format reviewers know best; an FL number is accepted where its listing states HVHZ.

What this page is

MVC is an authorized dealer for the four manufacturers below, not the holder of these approvals. The rows are the approvals those manufacturers hold for the series MVC sells, copied from the documents on file with us. Every number can be looked up at the issuer, and the anchoring detail inside each document is what whoever installs the unit has to follow.

Approvals expire and are revised. The date under each one is the issuer's; what matters is that it is current on the day the product is installed, not the day it was quoted.
