What This Site Is For

mvcwindows.com is an informational site. It describes the impact windows, impact doors and shades MVC Windows & Doors sells, explains the codes and approvals behind them, and lets you ask for a quote. Nothing on it is an offer that becomes a sale by itself.

A price, a lead time or a specification binds MVC Windows & Doors only when it appears on a written quote or purchase agreement, and only for the period that document states.

Product Specifications Come from the Manufacturer

The design pressures, impact ratings, glass make-up, frame sizes, colours and approval numbers shown on this site are published by the manufacturer of each product. MVC Windows & Doors reproduces them in good faith and updates them when the manufacturer does, but it does not test the products itself and cannot guarantee that a figure printed here matches the unit you receive.

A specification belongs to one model, at one size, in one configuration. The figures that count are the ones on the manufacturer's documents for the exact product on your quote. Ask for them before you buy.

Approvals Expire

Every impact product sold for Florida carries a Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance (NOA), a Florida Product Approval (FL#) or both. Each has an expiration date and a revision number, and each is replaced or withdrawn from time to time. An approval that was current when a page was written may not be current when you buy.

The approval has to be current on the day the product is permitted and installed, not on the day it was quoted. Verify the NOA or FL# number on your quote against the Miami-Dade County and Florida Building Commission product-approval databases at the time of purchase. MVC Windows & Doors Sells and Supplies. It Does Not Install.

MVC Windows & Doors sells, quotes, measures for, orders, stocks and delivers impact windows, impact doors and shades. It does not install them. Installation is carried out by the licensed contractor you choose, under the permit issued for your property, and whoever installs the product is responsible for the workmanship, for the anchoring detail the approval calls for, and for the inspections that follow.

MVC Windows & Doors does not perform, supervise, inspect or warrant installation work. The warranty on the product itself is the manufacturer's, on the terms the manufacturer publishes. Nothing on this site is an offer of installation, contracting or engineering services.

Guides and Code References Are General Information

The guides on this site describe the Florida Building Code, the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, product approvals, permitting and insurance programmes as MVC Windows & Doors understands them on the date each guide was written. They are general information, not legal, engineering or insurance advice, and they are no substitute for the authority having jurisdiction over your property, a licensed professional or your insurer.

Codes, approvals and programme rules change. Confirm anything you intend to rely on with the county or municipality that issues your permit, with a licensed contractor or engineer, and with your insurance carrier.

Prices and Availability

Prices, lead times and availability change with manufacturer pricing, freight and stock, and the site may not reflect a change on the day it happens. Only a written quote from MVC Windows & Doors states a price, and only for the period the quote says.
